Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Rhythm.

Last updated 2 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Rhythm — the websites at pastorsrhythm.com and nonprofitrhythm.com and the app at app.pastorsrhythm.com. Rhythm is operated by Tim Nicolette. By creating an account you agree to them. We have tried to write them in plain language; nothing here is hidden in the small print because there isn't any.

Rhythm is in beta, and free. It is being actively built and tested with a small number of churches and ministry organizations. That means features will change, some things will break, and occasionally something may be lost. Please keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose — a sermon, a grant report, a record you are required to hold. We will treat your data carefully, but beta software is not the place for your only copy of something important.

What Rhythm is

Rhythm is a weekly planning tool for pastors, ministry teams, and the staff of ministry-adjacent non-profits: your week, your projects, your meetings and their follow-ups, sermon and teaching planning, and optional connections to services like Google Calendar, Google Drive, Planning Center, Zoom and Rock RMS.

It is a working tool, not a system of record. Keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Your account

Your content stays yours

You own everything you put into Rhythm. Your notes, plans, sermons, files and messages remain yours. You give us only the permission we need to actually run the service — to store your content, display it back to you, and show it to the teammates you have shared it with. Nothing more. We do not claim ownership, we do not publish your content, and we do not use it to train AI models.

That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.

Using it fairly

Please don't use Rhythm to break the law, harass anyone, upload malware, infringe copyright, or attempt to reach another account's data. Don't resell the service or try to overwhelm it. If you connect another service, follow that provider's rules too.

Ministry data is sensitive. If you store information about members, donors, volunteers, or the people your organization serves, you are responsible for handling it lawfully and with the care those people would expect.

Teams and shared spaces

Rhythm is built for teams. Anything you put in a shared project, schedule or channel is visible to that team, and a team owner can manage the team's shared content. Your personal week, your private notes, and meetings you mark private are not visible to teammates, leaders, or overseers.

What this costs

Nothing. Rhythm is free during beta. There is no paid plan, no subscription, no trial that turns into a charge, and we do not collect card details or any payment information at all.

If paid plans arrive later, we will say so clearly and give you notice before anything you use starts costing money. We will not quietly convert a free account into a paid one, and we will not hold your existing content hostage behind a new paywall.

Connected services

Connecting Google, Planning Center, Zoom or Rock RMS is your choice, and you can disconnect at any time. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for their behaviour, their outages, or changes they make to their own products.

Availability

We work to keep Rhythm running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. We may need to take it down for maintenance, and features may change, improve, or occasionally be withdrawn. If we are removing something you rely on, we will give you notice where we reasonably can.

Rhythm is provided "as is." We do not warrant that it will be error-free or that it will meet every need. Please keep your own copies of anything critical — a sermon you cannot rewrite, a grant report, a record you are required to hold.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Rhythm is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data or lost opportunity arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars. Rhythm is currently provided free of charge.

Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.

Ending things

You can close your account at any time by writing to us, and we will delete your content as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, doesn't pay, or puts the service or other people at risk — and except in serious cases we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as Rhythm develops. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Rhythm after a change means you accept the new version.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located there.
